My friend is dealing with a canvas frame that has bowed away from the canvas. They tried using L-brackets in the corners, dampening the center, and clamping it, but no luck so far. I haven't checked it out myself yet, but I'm planning to tonight. Given that we're in New England with humid summers and dry winters, I suspect it might have been left outside at some point. I'm thinking about using a plane to straighten it, but I'd love to hear if anyone else has smarter ideas or better techniques!

You might want to look into adding some cross bars for support, like in this video I saw. Just a heads-up, adding proper ones would mean taking the whole frame apart, which can be a hassle. But if you're in a pinch, you could try insetting some support sideways and gently tapping to square it up. Good luck!

Here's a photo of what I tried that worked for me! You might find it useful for ideas.
