I've been watering my heart leaf philodendron with ice cubes for years because it helps prevent spills around my laptop and electronics. Recently, I came across some articles saying this method isn't ideal for plants. My plant seems to be doing well, as the ice doesn't contact the roots directly; it melts onto some rocks in the pot. Should I keep using ice cubes to water my plant, or is there a better way?

While it's generally not recommended to use ice cubes, if your plant looks healthy, then you might be fine. Just keep in mind that cold water isn't ideal for tropical plants. Giving room temperature water could help it grow even better. Maybe consider switching it up and see how your plant responds. Oh, and think about adding a bit of liquid fertilizer to boost its health!
Sounds like you're just overthinking it! If your plant is thriving, there's probably no need to change your watering method. Everyone has their own approach, and as long as your plant's happy, keep doing what works for you!
For every plant "rule" out there, there are folks who find success breaking them! As long as your plant isn't showing signs of distress, it seems you're doing something right! Just keep an eye on it and adjust if necessary.

I agree! Room temp water can really make a difference. Plus, your plant will appreciate the extra nutrients from fertilizer if you decide to add some.
