Can I regrow my Aeonium Leucoblepharum from its remaining leaves?

I left my Aeonium Leucoblepharum for a week after watering it, but when I returned, it looked dark and dead. Only three small leaves and one big one are still green. Is it possible to use these leaves to regrow the plant?

Honestly, the odds aren’t in your favor with using the leaves to regrow it. Most Aeoniums need a stronger stem or cuttings for propagation. It sounds like it suffered a bit of rot if it felt mushy. If you can, try to check the root system and see if there’s any good part left. If the stem is broken, that might be the end of that plant. Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks! I’ll check the roots and see if there’s anything salvageable. I appreciate the tips.

Regrowing Aeoniums from leaves can be tricky, especially with ones that have thinner leaves like the leucoblepharum. They just don’t respond well to leaf propagation. If you have the midstripe form, known as A. lavranosii-newtonii now, it’s probably not going to work. Also, watering during hot weather when the plant is dormant can lead to problems, so you might want to be cautious next time. Maybe take a pic of the plant so we can help more!

Yeah, I had a similar experience! I thought my Aeonium was a goner, but I learned that they really need some TLC in extreme temps. Good luck with yours!
