I'm curious about which direct sow seeds perform best in different areas. I live in Zone 7b/8a in North Carolina, near the mountains, and I've had a lot of success with zinnias, nasturtium, borage, and bumblebee cherry tomatoes regardless of where I plant them on my lot. I'd love to hear what has worked well for others in their zones. Let's inspire each other to grow!

In Zone 6b, I've had great luck with Sweet Williams! I scattered them in the spring and they’re looking good for next year. Poppies thrived for me too! I tried sunflowers, but the rabbits got to them, so I had to transplant larger seedlings instead. Zinnias did fine with direct sowing as well!
I hadn’t considered Sweet Williams before—thanks for the tip!
In my Zone 7b garden, borage, tomatoes (of all varieties), mint, habaneros, potatoes, and cucumbers tend to flourish. Can’t go wrong with those!
I just planted my fall garden a few weeks back, and I'm growing radishes, kale, carrots, arugula, cilantro, and lettuce. Fingers crossed everything does well!
I planted the same mix, plus some dill!
Good luck with the kale! I haven't had much success with it recently.

That's interesting! I had zero luck with poppies this year and thought local seeds would help.
