What are some lightweight alternatives to the Dewalt DCD996?

I work in commercial maintenance and while I often handle tasks that don't require heavy drilling, having a solid drill is important. A few years back, I bought the Dewalt DCD996 for drilling into concrete, and while I appreciate its quality, it's a bit heavy to manage, especially when I'm using it on a ladder. I'm looking for recommendations for lighter drills that maintain a similar level of build quality as the DCD996.

If you have the DCD996, the 800 is perfect for lighter tasks. It's compact and has lots of power. You can keep the 996 for heavier jobs like drilling into concrete. I also have a DCD999 which excels at drilling in steel, but for smaller jobs, the 800 is more comfortable, especially overhead.

That sounds exactly like what I need! I was considering the 805 too; is it worth it then?

The DCD800 is a great option! It's similar to the DCD805 but without the hammer mode, making it lighter and more suitable for everyday tasks.

Thanks for the tip! Is the weight difference noticeable between the 800 and 805?
