Why Aren’t There More 60V Tools in the Dewalt Lineup?

I've been browsing the Dewalt 60V tool lineup, and it feels like it's pretty sparse. I own several tools already like the angle grinder, mixer/drill, hammer drill, blower, string trimmer, circular saw, chainsaw, and sawzall. Am I just missing something, or have they not introduced many new tools in this category over the years?

Exactly! The FlexVolt lineup already targets the tools that benefit from the 60V power. Honestly, some tools like the sawzall don’t even seem to need a 60V upgrade – the 20V version does just fine. Unlike other brands like Makita, who are rolling out high voltage drills that don’t seem to need it at all. It’s a bit puzzling!

It feels like Dewalt has shifted their focus mostly to making more drills and impact drivers lately. It's been ages since something from them wowed me. Sure, I'd love a 60V circular saw for those heavy jobs, but something like a jigsaw? 20V is more than enough. I feel like they're missing out on some great tool ideas while they focus on what sells.

You pretty much nailed it in your last line! When you think about it, most of the 20V tools don’t really need a higher-powered version. The 60V tools you have pretty much cover the bases for heavy-duty tasks, and since all 20V tools can run on those 60V batteries, there's not a huge push for new 60V versions. Why reinvent the wheel if it works just fine?
