So, my neighbors to the south are dealing with a poison ivy issue right on our property line, and they're planning to spray to take care of it. I typically do my final garden cleanup around October, depending on the weather and how things are growing. They're waiting for me to finish my work before they spray, which I appreciate. My garden is just a few feet from the line, so I'm wondering if I should take any precautions once they do spray, especially when spring rolls around next year. Should I be worried about my garden after they spray? Also, I'm not sure what they'll be using to spray. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Getting the name of the spraying product is a great idea—look up its ingredients online! Depending on what they use, you might have to consider relocating your garden next year, but of course, that could be a hassle if it’s not an option for you.
Definitely find out what they’re using to spray. Some chemicals stick around for months, while others disappear quickly. As a precaution, you might want to cover your garden with plastic sheeting on the day they spray to minimize any overspray reaching the soil. And watering heavily afterward can help dilute any chemicals before planting in spring!

I can’t move the garden, but asking them about the spray is definitely something I’ll do!
