Hey everyone! I'm in Savannah, Georgia (zone 8b) and after a tough summer of extreme heat and constant rain, my garden is making a comeback. However, it's almost the end of September, and I'm worried about whether my veggies will last until November. My tomatoes barely produced due to the conditions, and my other plants really struggled too. The good news is that my peppers are starting to flower and produce fruit now that the weather has cooled down a bit. I'm considering covering them to overwinter but I also want to know how to better protect my garden from the heat next summer. Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

You’ve got this! In Raleigh, I usually have tomatoes and peppers going strong until the first freeze, which is often around Thanksgiving. This fall weather is perfect for growing, so don't give up just yet! Focus on caring for your current plants and you might be surprised by how well they do in the cooler months. Plus, don't forget about planting some greens and lettuce since fall is a great time for those!

I did try starting some new tomato seeds at the end of August, but they're still just tiny seedlings with only two leaves. Frustrating!
