I'm looking for a privacy hedge solution in Colorado Springs because my city restricts fence heights to 7 feet, and my neighbor isn't the best when it comes to privacy. Normally, I'd just plant some Green Giants, but I worry about how well arborvitae would do in this area. Can anyone recommend plants that will grow tall enough—around 15 feet—to block out the view? Also, keep in mind that my garden gets full sun all day!

Since you're in Colorado Springs, I understand the challenge! I've got Green Giants growing in your region, and they're doing really well. They thrive in full sun and can give you decent privacy if you let them grow. Just ensure they have enough water while they get established. Also, consider other fast-growing options like Leyland cypress or some varieties of viburnum that can reach the height you need!
You're right that Colorado has such diverse ecosystems! For your area, I'd also recommend looking into some native options like burr oak or even some varieties of pine, which could better tolerate the sunlight and drought conditions. They can provide a good screen without the risk of arborvitae faltering! Just consider spacing them properly to create a dense hedge.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely look into those options!
