I accidentally took out a wasp nest while I was cutting down a tree and now I'm stuck hiding inside my house. How long will it be before those angry wasps calm down and go away? Should I be worried about them still being around?

Hey, don't sweat it too much! Wasps can be pretty relentless, but usually, they'll disperse after a few hours. If you’re feeling brave, waiting until dark can help—you can sneak out then and deal with the remnants of the nest when they won’t be able to see you. Just remember, they tend to hold a grudge for a while and can get aggressive if they feel threatened.
If you're lucky, some local wildlife like skunks or raccoons might come by and take care of the nest for you! I had a skunk take care of a wasp nest for me a few weeks ago, and it was all gone by morning. It might just work out without you needing to do much! Keep an eye out, though.
It really depends on the type of wasp, but if you’re near a hornet or yellow jacket nest, they might stay mad for days. One trick is to wait until night and spray the nest. They'll be pretty disoriented in the dark, making it a safer option to handle things.
