Help Needed for Installing Programmable Light Switches!

Hey folks, I'm trying to swap out two regular light switches for programmable ones and I could really use some guidance. The new switches come with three wires: green for ground, red for load, and black for hot. However, the wires in the wall are both black, so I'm confused about which ones I should connect to. Is there a straightforward method to determine how to hook these up? Thanks for any help!

You might want to get a multimeter to check the wires. It makes identifying what's what a lot easier and safer too! Just make sure to take necessary precautions when dealing with electrical connections.

You'll definitely need a voltage tester for this job. However, I would recommend double-checking your skills before doing it yourself if you're unsure about identifying wires. Safety first!

Thanks for your input! I actually have a voltage tester and have ensured the circuit is off. Will I be able to figure things out without turning the power back on?
