Hey everyone, I have a question about using standard breakers in a plug-on neutral (PON) breaker panel. I've worked with electricians before, but mostly on commercial projects, not residential. So, I'm a bit unsure. I'm installing a 100 amp subpanel in my pole building, which has a 12-space configuration and I'm running 2-2-2-4 aluminum wire. Is it okay to use regular breakers in this PON panel? I'd prefer not to spend over $500 on AFCI breakers if I don't have to. Thanks for your help!

Definitely no need for AFCI breakers in your pole barn. Just make sure to separate your ground and neutral bus bars since it's a subpanel in a detached building. Don’t forget to install two grounding rods too! That’s important for safety.
