How Do I Remove Tile and Concrete Backing to Fix a Shower Leak?

I'm dealing with a leak in the hot water pipe for my shower. I can see where it's leaking by taking off the shower handle, but to really fix it, I need to remove a tile and the concrete backing behind it. I think taking out and replacing the tile shouldn't be too hard, but I'm not sure about the best method to remove and repair the concrete backing. Right now, I've turned off the hot water for that shower, so the leak has stopped temporarily. I'd appreciate any tips or advice!

Have you considered approaching this from behind the wall? It might be easier than removing the tile.

Yeah, but if it’s behind a 2x6, that could complicate things. You’d have to cut through that support, which isn’t ideal.
