I'm trying to figure out the best fertilizer to use in my garden bed this spring. I'm planning on picking up some compost and fertilizer, but I'm uncertain about the NPK ratio I should be looking for. I've seen some options like 2-4-3 and others like 10-10-10, and they seem quite different. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

It really depends on what you're planting! For most crops, a balanced 10-10-10 mix works well, but if you have specific plants in mind, it might be worth adjusting based on their needs.
You usually want to fertilize regularly, but some folks apply potash all at once at the beginning of the season. Just make sure to consider what your soil is lacking rather than going with a stock mix—tailor it to your plants' needs!
I try to keep fertilizer out of my bed and just use it in the garden. But hey, everyone has their own methods, so whatever works for you!
I'd recommend focusing on feeding the soil rather than just the plants. A high-quality compost is fantastic for amending your soil and helps promote a healthy ecosystem of beneficial organisms. This will provide the nutrients in the long run. If you do want to use some fertilizer, select one based on what you’re aiming to grow.

That makes sense! I'll definitely check on my soil's needs before deciding.
