I just picked up the 2-Gal M18 vacuum, and I'm really impressed with how convenient a cordless vacuum can be for jobs. I've started using a filter sock over the vacuum's filter, and while it seems to be working fine, I'm curious about other people's experiences with this setup. Do you think a filter sock is beneficial, or should I try something else?

I've tried it, and it does work, but honestly, I find myself cleaning it so often that it's almost easier to just remove it and clean the filter directly. Sometimes I wonder if I'm losing suction trying to make the filter last longer.
I'd recommend going with fleece bags for the M18. I use them across all my vacs, and they really save the filters while also making emptying way easier to handle!
Fleece bags? Can you share a link to those?
From what I've gathered, using a sock over the filter can definitely help prolong its life, plus there are some good, affordable non-brand dust bags you can find online that work well too. I use one myself and it seems to do the trick!
Yeah, I feel the same! It hasn't hurt my Rigid vac, which I use as a central vac in my shop. I've found some budget-friendly options on Amazon.

Totally relate! It's like, am I really extending the filter's life or just complicating things for myself?
