Is the Harbor Freight Hole Saw Worth It for Drilling a Deadbolt in a Metal Door?

I'm looking to drill a hole for a deadbolt in just one metal door. I'm considering getting the $13 bi-metal hole saw from Harbor Freight, but I'm wondering if it will get the job done without much hassle. Would spending a bit more, like on a $12 Lenox saw from Amazon (which I can get delivered), be a smarter choice? Has anyone had experience with this?

I've used their hole saw before and it did the job perfectly for me. If you're just drilling one hole, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Definitely take it slow when drilling; heat can ruin a cheap bit really fast. As long as you’re careful, the Harbor Freight saw should work just fine for your job. Just don’t let it overheat or you’ll have a tough time finishing the hole!

I’ve got a shed full of Harbor Freight tools that I’ve only used once or twice, but I can say they’ve worked fine for those tasks! For a one-time job like this, I think you should go for it. I haven't had any issues with what I've gotten from them, so I say go ahead!

Totally agree! Just be ready to figure out storage afterward, haha!
