Hey everyone! I'm looking to bolt my Steelhead safe to my nightstand, and I want to make sure it can't be unfastened unless the safe is open. I'm considering the typical method of pulling out the drawer and using nuts and bolts, then applying red Loctite to the threads to keep them secure. Do you think that would effectively prevent someone from undoing the nut without having access to the bolt head? Any tips or alternative ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, but really, can’t someone just take off the whole nightstand? If you’re worried about theft or tampering, you might want to find something a bit more secure to bolt it to instead. Just something to think about!
If you’re bolting it down, make sure to use grade 8 bolts. That way, even if someone tries to mess with it, they won't easily be able to shear them off. Using Loctite with a lock washer is a solid plan to keep the nut in place until the safe's open, but do remember, it’s not foolproof against a determined thief.
The Loctite and washers are a good combo for what you want, but you'll need to ensure the bolts are really secure. If someone can't access the bolts when the safe is closed, you’re on the right track!
