My patio door is rotting—how can I fix it myself?

I've got a real problem with my patio door panel—the bottom corners have completely rotted away, and it seems like the previous owners tried to fix it with wood glue and paint. This mess is causing the door sweep to sag, making it a nightmare to lock the door from the outside. I'm looking for some DIY suggestions to tackle this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, I can't share pictures right now because the system won't allow it.

You’ve got a couple of options here depending on how much work you're willing to put in. If you're up for it, replacing the door jamb and trim is a solid move. I’d recommend using PVC trim because it holds up well against moisture. Just make sure you paint the entire jamb before you put it back in to protect it from the elements.

Did you check the photo? Given that the rot is on the outside, would I definitely need to change out the entire door jamb?
