What Should I Plant in My Garden This September/October?

Hey everyone! I'm a complete newbie and have spent the last two years clearing out my garden, which was full of roots, rocks, bricks, concrete, and all sorts of buried junk after buying a house. Now that I'm finally getting to it, I'm looking for advice on what to plant this month that will make me feel like I'm making progress rather than just tearing things up. Any ideas or inspiration would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!

For a veggie garden, how about garlic? It's super easy to grow! You can also throw in some spinach, winter lettuce, and spring onions. If you're into flowers, fall is excellent for planting spring bulbs like daffodils and tulips, too!

Thanks for the tips! Garlic sounds like a perfect start. What do you think about mixing flowers and veggies in one area?

Absolutely! Just make sure they have enough space to grow. They can coexist nicely!

If you're open to shrubs and trees, this is the perfect season for planting them. They can settle in before the cold weather hits, which is awesome for their growth. I've even planted 14 new shrubs from cuttings this week along with a tree I grew from seed! It feels great to watch them thrive!

Now's a great time to focus on planting bulbs and perennials. You can either buy them potted or split some from existing plants in your garden if you have any. It's an easy way to add color to your garden!
