Best Wood Varnish for Painted Surfaces?

Asked By CraftyStar777 On

Hey everyone! I usually paint my wooden table with acrylic paints once a year. However, last year I used a varnish that was supposed to be compatible with paint, but it ended up melting some of the paint and left some weird dark stains. This time, I want to paint the table sky blue and I'd really like to use a good varnish. Should I consider changing the type of paint too? Would love to hear your suggestions!

If you can, pick a paint that matches the finish you're aiming for. A quality outdoor paint should hold up well without needing an extra sealer. Just make sure it's suitable for what you'll be doing on the table, especially if it’s food-safe!

Are there paints that can still be safe for food use? Just curious!
