Is This Painting Quote Too Good to Be True?

Hey everyone! We got estimates for painting the walls and moldings in our 1500 sq ft townhome (including two stairwells) located in Chicago. Two of the quotes came in at around $14,000 for the whole job, but one estimate is only $5,000, which is way lower than the others. All contractors have great reviews and the cheaper one has a solid reputation too. We're just wondering if this low quote is a red flag or if it's a genuine good deal. The contractor mentioned they use primer and high-quality paint when we asked. We're really considering going with them but need some advice. What do you think?

As someone who runs a paint company, I'd say that $5,000 for that size is pretty low. Typically, you'd expect to pay about $4-$5 per sq ft for a quality job. Factors like wall height and any additional features could increase the cost significantly, so be sure to clarify everything in the estimate.
