What’s the Best Way to Harvest Apples from Tall Trees?

I've got several big apple trees at home, one of which is estimated to be over 125 years old! The issue is, the apples are way too high up for us to reach safely. While we do have ladders, the ground is quite uneven, making it risky to balance them. Are there any tools or techniques that could help us pick the apples without causing any bruising?

You should definitely check out apple picks on a pole; they work like a charm for reaching those higher branches! It’s basically a long pole with a basket attached at the end to gently grab the apples without damaging them.

I recommend searching for 'apple picking canes' online. They’re pretty useful for this kind of situation. And wow, a 125-year-old tree must be impressive! I'd love to get some seeds from it too.

Seriously, just Google 'apple picker.' It’s what orchards use, and they have special ladders designed for uneven ground. They only have three legs to stabilize them better on bumpy terrain!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into specialized ladders, they sound like a smart investment.
