Hey everyone! I live in Washington Township, NJ, and we're finally getting around to replacing our roof. The sales rep from Botani Exteriors recommended Titan XT shingles due to their durability, wind resistance, and ability to fend off those annoying black streaks that plague many homes in the area. I'm feeling a bit anxious because this is a significant investment, and I want to make sure we choose something that truly lasts and keeps our home safe. Has anyone had Titan XT shingles installed? How do they stack up against options like GAF or Owens Corning? I would really appreciate any honest feedback to help us make the best decision for our family. Thanks!

I’ve read quite a bit about Titan XT shingles, and while they can be durable, there's a common concern about black streaks (usually caused by algae). Some folks have mentioned that because they have less copper than other brands, they may get that algae quicker. Personally, I would suggest looking into other brands like GAF or Owens Corning. They have some good options that handle algae better!

What would you recommend instead? I’ve heard good things about GAF shingles. Any thoughts?
