I just finished cleaning my car using the DCV501H vacuum, and wow, my ears are ringing! Is this normal, or is there something wrong with the vacuum?

Yeah, that's one loud tool! I definitely recommend wearing ear plugs when you're using it. Keeps the ringing at bay for sure!
It's known to be pretty noisy—almost like using a circular saw! If the volume bothers you, I found that using off-brand pre-filters from Amazon can help reduce the sound a bit.

I do the same with my shop vac! Gotta protect those ears.
