I'm looking to enhance my fabric printing skills, especially for canvas and denim. I have a few small designs that are tricky to screen print, and while I could do stencils, I'd prefer to stick to something I know well, like linoleum block printing. Is this a good method for printing on fabric?

Absolutely, block printing has been a staple for fabric designs for centuries! I've personally had awesome results using linoleum blocks to print on cotton t-shirts and canvas bags. For your denim project, I recommend using linoleum on timber blocks rather than hessian sheets. Make sure to clean the edges of the block before printing to avoid messy lines! Use acrylic fabric ink mixed with a bit of extender for a smoother finish, and pin the medium to corrugated cardboard to prevent ink seepage. This setup really helps in getting a clean print! Also, using a clean roller instead of a brayer works wonders for pressure. If you're feeling adventurous, vinyl plates might be worth a try too; they're great for ink release!

Thanks for all the advice! This will help a lot!
