I recently patched some screw and nail holes in my wall and sanded down the excess. Now, the patched areas feel too smooth compared to the rest of the wall. I tried using spray texture, but it's not really meant for small spots. Does anyone have tips or tricks for adding just a little bit of texture to these tiny areas?

What works for me is to apply some compound on the patches and then lightly touch it with a damp sponge. It can help to recreate a little texture without going overboard. It's a subtle but effective method!
Here's a fun method: make some thin mud, dip a stiff bristle brush in it, and flick some globs onto the wall. You can adjust how close you are to control the effect. If you don't like how it turns out, just wipe it off and try again! Once it looks good, paint right over it.
Another approach is to cut a hole in a piece of cardboard and hold it about 2-4 inches away from the wall while you spray the texture. This way, you can guide where the spray goes without leaving a harsh line.
You might want to try using a rough nap roller for texture. The specific texture you want could change things a bit, so it would help to know that. But a roller might give you a nice finish without overdoing it.
I'd recommend applying a couple of coats with a high build primer using a good roller. This should give your patched spots a textured look that's closer to the rest of the wall.

I've tried that too! It definitely helps bring back some of the texture without making a huge mess.
