How Can I Make a DIY AirTag with an ESP32 and Buzzer?

I'm trying to create my own DIY AirTag using an ESP32 and a buzzer, but I'm looking for simpler ways or helpful videos to guide me through making this Bluetooth buzzer. I've found some videos with connection diagrams, but I'm not very experienced with this stuff, so it's a bit confusing for me. Is there anything smaller than the ESP32 I could use to connect to the buzzer? Additionally, if anyone knows of a website where I could create a custom board, that would really help! I'm open to any thoughts or ideas you may have!

I just saw Great Scott's video on building a DIY AirTag! It might guide you through the process step-by-step. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_R7HFDz1AdU. Worth checking out for some visual aid!

Before diving into the buzzer, it’s important to clarify your main goal. Are you just tracking an item or do you need a remote buzzer? For tracking, you’d want GPS and a cell connection, which means getting a SIM card involved. That’ll help you gather location data.

You might want to check out Meshtastic for a decentralized AirTag-like experience. It's an interesting option even though I haven't built one myself yet. Definitely looks promising!

Meshtastic is pretty cool! I've set it up with a few nodes, but just a heads up, line-of-sight can be tricky in some locations. I've connected nodes over 100 miles away though, so there are some neat possibilities!
