I'm looking for some advice on how to adapt my shower for my elderly grandmother, who has always showered with a bucket and ladle due to her traditional ways. She used to fill up a bucket with water from a tub spout, and she often uses a shower stool. Since she's getting older and has some mobility issues, we need to make her bathing experience as comfortable and familiar as possible. We have a standing shower in our home, so I'm thinking about removing the shower head to fill a bucket instead—though I might need a longer hose if the bucket will sit on the shower floor. I'm open to any creative suggestions to help her feel at ease while showering!

You could consider installing a handheld shower head that you can hang down into the bucket, so she still has that bucket experience. It might save you from removing the existing shower head altogether! This way, she can just fill the bucket without the spray going everywhere. You can find a good one at home improvement stores.

That's a great idea! Would it work well if I removed the shower head completely to only use the hose instead?
