I currently live in a place where the thermostat is set to a toasty 82°F, which I've learned isn't great for a lot of plants. Also, I have a dog who might get into them if they were to tip over, so I'm looking for non-toxic options. I have ADHD and depression, so I'm hoping tending to a plant will help with my mental health, but I know I might struggle with keeping up regular maintenance.
I'm leaning towards plants with some color, like African Violets or Cape Primroses, but I've heard they prefer cooler temperatures. The Christmas Cactus seems like it could work, but I'm unsure if it can handle the heat long-term. What plants do you think I could thrive with considering my living situation? Any recommendations or thoughts would be super helpful!
