I'm looking to extend the cable from my grid CT clamp because the original length isn't enough. I have a couple of Givenergy Lora transceivers, but when I hook them up to the meter connected to my inverter, the readings seem off—more like sporadic than consistent. The transceivers communicate via RS485, and the meter I'm using is an Acrel ACR10r paired with my Solis inverter. Since I've never worked with these before, I'm not sure if the issue lies with the meter/clamp or the Lora transceivers. I haven't used a grid sensor before, but I need one to add a battery to my setup. Appreciate any advice!

Have you considered just extending the CT clamp cable? I’ve managed to run mine without issues over about 500 feet using Cat6. It might be worth the hassle if you're not keen on digging up your driveway, though I get that can be a pain. Ideally, it would be the simplest option!
I've successfully run RS485 connections over long distances, up to 1,200 meters. Let's clarify a bit: I’ve never seen a CT clamp utilizing RS485 directly. Can you provide the model number of the clamp and how far you want to extend? A good practice when extending CT cables is to maintain the same twisting pattern as the original wires. Do you need a brief explanation on why that twist is important?
