I just bought a 2200 sqft home, and I noticed that it has popcorn ceilings throughout. I'm looking to get a ballpark figure on what it might cost to have it all removed. The upside for the contractor is that we want to do this before moving in, so there won't be any furniture to worry about. Any insights?

We decided to spend a bit more and had drywall installed right over the popcorn ceilings. We also added new recessed lighting throughout the house, which turned out to be totally worth it! It gave the place a fresh look without the mess.

Did you get the popcorn removed first? And what did that cost you? I'm a new homeowner too!
