Hey everyone! I'm considering the installation of an Anker Solix 3800 system (or something similar) for either partial or whole home backup. I'm curious about what others have experienced in terms of electrical installation costs, especially for the transfer switch and Anker's smart home power kit. I live in Massachusetts, so I have a feeling the prices could be on the higher side. I'm also thinking about connecting a ground solar array to the system but plan to tackle that part myself. Any advice or experiences would be super helpful!

I had a simpler setup with an interlock and generator inlet for my 3800, which ran me about $500. It’s definitely not as automatic as the fancier options, but honestly, we only lose power for more than 10 seconds a few times a year, so I’m okay with manually hooking up a generator. Plus, the good part is that it works with any type of generator!

Thanks for sharing! I’m actually leaning towards the battery solution myself since I want to not only have backup power but also reduce my electric bill with solar.
