I recently fixed a clog in my pedestal sink, which involved replacing an old, rusted plug that was full of hair. After that repair, everything was working perfectly with no leaks. However, I noticed there's water all over the floor today, and it's leaking from the seals of the p-trap. When I took it apart, I found it was filled with water but there were no clogs or hair in it. Could this mean there's a blockage in the drain line going into the wall? What steps can I take to troubleshoot and fix this issue?

The p-trap is designed to hold water all the time to keep sewer gases from entering your home. If you're seeing leaks, it might not necessarily mean you have a clog. It could just be that the seals or gaskets in the p-trap need replacing. Since p-traps are relatively cheap, replacing it could be a good idea. It’s an easy DIY project if you’re comfortable with it!
You can sometimes just buy new gaskets or O-rings instead of replacing the whole p-trap. Check to see if those are worn out, as that’s often the culprit. But if you’re seeing water pooling there and it's leaking out, it might be time for a full replacement. DIY is totally manageable for this kind of fix!
