Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on buying carpet for a room we just want to get through the next few years. My fiancé and I have zero experience with carpet buying, and my dad owns a busy home improvement company, so I don't want to bug him and disrupt his work. We need something durable enough to handle kids and our dogs for a couple of years until we can do a bigger renovation. I've been tasked with finding quotes this week, and I'm wondering what the best route is for getting affordable carpet and installation in the Delmarva area. Should we go with a contractor, Home Depot, or a local company? Any specific recommendations? What kind of price range should I be looking at? Are there carpets to avoid that could cause issues later? Thanks for any tips!

Have you thought about if it has to be installed carpet? A big area rug could be a good alternative that fills the space without the hassle of installation. Plus, you can easily take it out for cleaning or if you want to switch things up later. But if you really need wall-to-wall, then go the route of carpet for the durability factor.

It does have to be carpet. We’re storing area rugs for when we make the switch to hardwood, but I’m worried about our dog having accidents. We’ve got a 2-hour schedule and are doing our best, but it’s tough! Carpet helps when you need something to handle these pup challenges.
