What’s the Best Way to Handle Sinking Ground Issues Before Buying a House?

Hey everyone, I'm looking at a potential new house, but I'm really worried about the sinking ground around the property. Can anyone share advice on how to address this issue and prevent it from happening in the future? I found some photos here: https://imgur.com/a/PUxTadE. Thanks!

Just a heads up, if there's a water meter pit nearby, that could be affecting the ground. I had a similar issue where mine leaked and it caused some of my driveway to sink. You might want to check with the city about any known issues around that area.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely reach out to the city.

Before making any decisions, you should definitely get a geotech report. You need to know what's causing the sinking before buying that house. Otherwise, you're jumping into a potential disaster without knowing the full story.

I’d seriously think twice about this. It sounds like it could turn into a money pit if the ground is sinking. Not worth the risk!
