What Type of Replacement Seal Should I Get for My Garage Door?

I have an Ankmar brand garage door, and I need to replace the seal. One side of the door still has an intact seal, but the other side has peeled back about 4 inches. What kind of replacement seal should I look for, and do you have any tips for installation?

It looks like you need a simple garage door seal. Your best bet is to either buy a factory replacement from a local supplier or measure the undamaged seal on the other side to find something compatible online. Don't forget to buy an extra foot just in case! When you're putting the new seal in, clean the channels thoroughly with soapy water to help it slide in easily. If you have a helper, that can make things much simpler too! Just take your time, pull the seal evenly, and be sure to cut off the excess to avoid shrinking issues later on.

Thanks for the tips! Are you sure there aren't specific shapes involved? I heard terms like bulb seals and T-type—how do I know which one fits?
