I've been really interested in picking up a 2Ah Forge battery, but I'm holding off because I feel like they might drop a newer version right after I buy one. Has anyone heard about plans for a 2Ah Forge? Also, why hasn't a wall power adapter been released yet? I thought Metabo had one out already, so it seems surprising that Milwaukee doesn't.

What are you hoping to see in a 2Ah Forge that the current CP3.0 battery doesn't already provide? I mean, isn't the 3.0 the more logical ask? The difference in the Forge batteries usually comes down to that tabless cell design, which really enhances discharge rates. So, if they did a 3.0 Forge, it could benefit from that, allowing for better performance and possibly lighter weight. That could be pretty decent!
Exactly! A Forge version could also bring in that reliability factor with better lifespans, which is super appealing for folks who already own the bigger 8Ah or 12Ah batteries.
Honestly, I think a 3.0 Forge is more feasible at this point. It would offer roughly the same power output as the current HO 3.0, just in a more compact design. They’re already using tabless 18650 cells, which definitely help with heat management during higher draws.
Yeah, those tabless cells really do stand out in performance, especially at high usage. It's impressive how much better they can handle power demands!

I think the main ask for a smaller battery, like a 2Ah, is just the portability. You want something light for quick tasks without sacrificing too much power. But yeah, if they did a 3.0 Forge, it could be a game changer with those advanced discharge features.
