I'm trying to move a fridge into a room with 87-inch ceilings, but the fridge is 82 inches tall. When I tilt it on a dolly to fit through the door, it ends up scraping the ceiling when I try to stand it back up. Has anyone dealt with this issue and found a solution? I'm looking for tips or techniques to avoid that ceiling scrape when moving it upright. Thanks for any help!

If the fridge is a tight fit, look for any step down in the area that might give you more clearance. If you can get it upright in another spot, using moving straps can help maneuver it while it's standing. Or, if there’s a stairway leading upwards with enough clearance, you can lift the top of the fridge up while standing it there.
Instead of using a dolly, consider using a sturdy blanket or tarp. Get the fridge onto the blanket and have a few people help pull it while others push from the back. If it's dragging too much, using some cardboard under the fridge can help it slide easier.
First, consider which side of the fridge is narrower and tilt it that way. You might also want to take the doors off the fridge to decrease its depth when tipping. Just make sure to measure it diagonally to check if it will fit. Once you get it upright, let the fridge sit unplugged for a few hours before you plug it in to let the refrigerant settle correctly.
