How Can I Treat Shot Hole Disease on My Plum Tree?

I have a one-year-old plum tree that's showing signs of shot hole disease. I've heard that using Bordeaux mixture can help with treatment, but I'm also aware that it's been banned in the UK. Can anyone suggest an effective alternative for treating this issue?

Totally get the frustrations! Bordeaux mixture might be banned, but you still have natural options at your disposal. Look into organic fungicides or neem oil, which can be effective without the harsh effects on the environment. Plus, they won't harm your garden's wildlife. Just ensure your tree has plenty of airflow and sunlight by giving it a good prune, and it should be in much better shape!

It’s definitely a bummer when your tree gets sick! Some disease pressure is normal and likely won’t do lasting harm. Instead of going for harsh chemicals, focus on maintaining your tree's health. Prune it regularly to keep it open and airy, which helps with light penetration and airflow. This can really reduce the dampness that leads to diseases like shot hole. Remember, good air circulation is your best friend for keeping those spores at bay!
