Got a Chive Overload? Here’s How to Use Them!

I started growing chives from seeds a couple of years back, and while they didn't do much the first year, they've really taken off in their second year in my sunny front garden! I'm curious to see if they'll keep growing even more as they age. I now have a huge surplus of chives, and my dehydrator just can't keep up with them. What do you all do with your extra chives?

Chives are awesome on scrambled eggs and in just about any dish where you'd use green onions. They add a nice pop of flavor!

What if I told you I have over 6 mature plants? I don't think I could use all those on eggs alone! ?

Yeah, chives are definitely spreaders! The flowers are beautiful, but once they go to seed, watch out. I found seedlings sprouting everywhere by the end of the second year. Planning to divide some and share with friends this season!

I mainly grow them as ornamental plants, with the bonus of being able to eat them. They definitely add some charm to the garden!
