Hey everyone! I recently had to replace all the roof tiles of my house after some spray insulation caused leaks, resulting in a lot of dust settling on the Rockwool insulation in my attic. I'm looking to utilize the loft space and maybe even add more insulation while I'm at it. What's the best way to remove the thick layer of dust from the Rockwool? I was thinking about using a vacuum system or something similar. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

If you're planning to convert that attic into livable space, honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about the dust. Just lay down some plywood or OSB over it, and that will help contain anything on the surface. Plus, once you cover it, you won't even see the dust that's left. Also, just a heads up: Rockwool isn’t fiberglass, but that shouldn’t change your cleaning approach too much. Just get it covered and you'll be fine!
Great points made! Rockwool is definitely denser than fiberglass, so you can be a bit more aggressive with your cleaning methods without worrying too much about pulling up fibers. But if you do plan to cover it with boards, it’s really not something to lose sleep over. If you're doing a full renovation, go ahead and board it up—it'll definitely make your life easier!
