Affordable DIY Ideas for a Backyard Hot Tub?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some budget-friendly options to create a makeshift hot tub in my backyard. I don't need any jets or fancy temperature control; I just want something simple that I can fill with hot water. I've considered a free-standing tub, but I haven't been able to find any affordable second-hand options. Would using an alcove tub be a feasible idea? I've never removed one before. Another thought was to go for those inflatable cold plunge tubs—I know they can handle hot water too, but I'm worried they might wear out quickly. Any suggestions or recommendations?

How affordable are you looking to go? I’ve seen galvanized stock tanks used for outdoor dips. Check out this one from Tractor Supply—it was around the right price for a durable option!

Years ago, a friend of mine used a big metal tub with a wood stove attached, which was pretty cool. You'd need to get the fire going for a few hours before jumping in, but it worked surprisingly well!

That's really interesting! But did the wood stove ever rust? I once saw my niece make a cold tub using stacked rocks in a creek, which is cool because it constantly overflows with fresh water from a spring. It was so refreshing during the summer!
