Help! Water Pooling in My Bosch Dishwasher – What Should I Check First?

0
Asked By Homeowner1234 On

I just moved into a new house and decided to give the Bosch dishwasher a spin. Unfortunately, it stops running after about 10 minutes, and there's water pooling at the bottom. I'm a bit lost on where to begin troubleshooting this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First off, definitely check the drain pipe and the outlet at the bottom of your dishwasher for any clogs. I had a similar issue with my Bosch where there was a float device that prevents water from draining if a drain pan underneath is full. In my case, it was stuck because of some mice chewing on it. We had an appliance maintenance company handle it, so I can't say how easy it would be to fix yourself, but start with clearing clogs first!

Also, don't forget to check the air gap for your dishwasher. Mine was totally clogged up with food bits, and it caused my dishwasher not to drain. Just remove the air gap cover and clean it out!
