Hey everyone! My friend and I just bought a house with a renovated ADU basement, and I'm currently living there. The ceiling has exposed ducting, and I'm looking for ways to make it look a bit nicer. Initially, I thought about building a bulkhead around the ducts, but that's not feasible in all areas. Now I'm considering using wallpaper or vinyl wrap to give it a fresh look. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I don't understand why no one has chimed in yet! Looking at your photo, you could go for a classic approach by enclosing the ducting with drywall. Just paint it afterward to match the room. Another option is to create a wooden lattice frame and then cover that with drywall and paint it as well. It could look really nice!
Wallpaper or vinyl wrap could be a cool solution if you're aiming for a quick and stylish update! Just be sure to pick a design that complements your basement's vibe. It'll give an instant pop without the hassle of more construction. Plus, if you ever want to change it up, it's easy to remove too!

Thanks for the suggestion! I was leaning toward drywall, but I'm worried because two of the ducts don't have enough space for a steel channel to attach it to. One is right above a doorway, so it makes it tricky. That's why I'm considering the wallpaper or vinyl wrap.
