I'm about to move into a condo with a finished kitchen in the basement that uses an ejector pump for drainage, which also services a bathroom. Since I'm the first owner, I want to prevent any future problems related to the ejector pump. To do that, I'm considering installing a grease trap under the kitchen sink to catch any debris that might slip down the drain. I don't pour oil or grease down the sink, but I know little bits can make their way in over time. I'd prefer a smaller grease trap so it doesn't take up too much space, even if that means I'll need to clean it out more often. Has anyone here installed one in a residential setting? What products did you use, and how effective were they? Any recommendations for good options?
