Using a Garden Hose for Hot Water: Any Risks?

Hey folks! I'm working on an outdoor bath setup for soaking, but I'm facing a dilemma. The hot water taps in my laundry are quite a distance away from the bath (around 20 meters), and getting long, hot-water rated hoses is way too pricey. I'm wondering if using a standard garden hose poses any health risks, like microplastics leaching into the water. Any insights or alternative suggestions would really help. Thanks!

The biggest concern with a regular garden hose is that it may crack or leak sooner than you expect. If you're planning to use it frequently for hot water, that could be a hassle. You might want to think about a more permanent solution.

If you're looking for a more long-term fix, consider going with PVC pipes. It would probably be a better investment in the long run. You can bury the pipes for efficiency and then finish with a hose bib made for a short hose connection. This way, you avoid all those risks with a garden hose.

I've used a regular rubber hose for running hot water to fill kiddie pools and wash my dog. It's not officially rated for hot water, which might shorten its lifespan, but if I need to replace it every decade, I'm fine with that. Just keep in mind that rubber hoses might release microplastics into the water, so it's something to consider.
