Can I Re-Veneer My Dining Table?

I've really damaged my dining table's veneer—it got burned and is in rough shape after being left outside, with raised grain and all. I still want to use it for dining, so I'm wondering if I can sand the current veneer smooth and then add a new veneer on top of it. How difficult is this for someone who's a total newbie? I'm aiming for a nice finish, but it doesn't have to be perfect.

Yeah, you can definitely add new veneer over the old one! Just make sure to sand it flat first and get rid of any old finish so that the adhesive bonds well. If the surface is too smooth or dense, the veneer might peel off later. Check out this (https://youtu.be/S00ObfjZBVA?si=8DiZEONt9w_rquwl) for a good guide. It's key to have a good surface for the best results.

Totally agree! Sanding off that old finish is super important.
