I'm looking to switch from my old Echo two-stroke gas leaf blower, which is about 12-13 years old and losing power, to an electric model. The last service cost almost as much as a new blower! My old unit blew at 200mph, and while I've seen a Dewalt that claims 160mph, it's pricer than those blowing at 130mph. Given I manage five acres with lots of leaves, I need something effective. Can anyone recommend a solid electric model or share experiences?

I've got both battery and gas blowers. For serious leaf cleanup, I think gas is the only way to go, especially for your size yard. Battery blowers are great for light work, but they just can’t match the power and runtime of gas for heavy-duty jobs like yours.

That's true, but I can manage with my battery setup since I have multiple 5ah batteries. I just swap them out while the others charge. When I upgrade, I'm definitely eyeing the EGO 765.
