Why is my PARKSIDE paint still sticky after two weeks?

Hey folks, I'm reaching out for some advice from anyone who's used PARKSIDE polyurethane wood paint from Lidl. I painted a wooden surface for my garage floor with it, but even after two weeks, the paint is still tacky to the touch. It seems dry on the surface, but if I press down or leave something smooth on it, it feels annoying sticky. I'm curious if anyone else has run into this issue and what I might do to fix it. Would leaving it outdoors be a good idea? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your paint hasn't fully cured yet. Even if it appears dry, polyurethane can take longer to set, especially in cooler or poorly ventilated areas. Try boosting airflow around the painted surface—maybe use a fan to help it dry. Also, if you applied a thick coat, that could contribute to the stickiness. You might want to consider applying a thinner second coat after the first has cured. If you need to use it soon, just avoid putting anything flat on it until it toughens up more. Let it off-gas indoors as much as possible; that usually helps.

Isn't it a bit of a gamble buying paint from Lidl? Sometimes you get lucky, but other times it’s like... lesson learned, right? Honestly though, I tried similar varnish from them a while back and it was fine for steel, but not so great for wood. Good luck with your project!

Yeah, I kind of took a chance because of my previous positive experience with their enamel. Just didn't expect it to stay tacky like this. Thanks for the heads-up!
