How to Fix a Stuck Chuck on My Cordless Dewalt Drill?

I've got a 5-year-old cordless Dewalt drill with a chuck that's stuck. I'm wondering if I can easily break it open and replace it myself, or if it's better to take it to a dealer. Should I just get a new drill instead?

Before going for a full replacement, try spraying some lubricant into the chuck. Sometimes that can free it up. But if that doesn’t work, you can find replacement chucks online pretty cheap. Just decide if you want a $30 one from Amazon or look for a more expensive OEM part. Good luck!

Yeah, the chuck is actually replaceable! It’s usually just held on by a single screw. I’d recommend checking out some YouTube tutorials; they make it look pretty simple. You might be able to save some cash by doing it yourself instead of taking it to a dealer.
